Fresh Franz -- Stereogum has video of a new Franz Ferdinand song. It souns vaguely Bowie-esque and has a bit of a strutting beat. I don't even know what I mean by that, but check it out.

Erik Shepard is the frontman for Chicago's Life At Sea, and he has just released his first solo record. It's called Chasing Storms and is primarily just him and his acoustic guitar. The album is quite good, a new step for Shepard that shows off some of his foremost strengths as a songwriter and singer.
